TRS and BJP failed to meet peoples’ expectations while ‘Golden Telangana’ is confined only to one family, alleges Uttam Kumar Reddy
It was a sea of public all around Sangareddy, the district headquarters on Thursday. From afternoon onwards, the roads were full with Congress workers and vehicles with party flags from Pothireddypally Chowrastha to Ambedkar Stadium, all the way for about five kilometres.
A large number of party workers took out a rally to welcome AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who attended Praja Garjana programme organised by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) here on Thursday. The programme was presided over by TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Soon after his arrival, Mr. Gandhi garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi, late Prime Minister and his grandmother on the main road in the town and came to the venue of the public meeting.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that both the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government at the State and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at Centre have failed to meet the expectations of the people. He said that ‘Golden Telangana’ was confined only to one family while all others sections are suffering due to the misrule of the TRS.
Former MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy warned of counter attacks if the party workers are attacked.
Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy predicted that the Congress will come to power in Telangana and said the fall of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would start from Gajwel, the constituency being represented by him. Former Lok Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao alleged that farmers are being ill-treated by the Telangana Government and latest example is that of handcuffing farmers in Khammam district.
Party MLA D.K. Aruna said she could see a renewed energy among the Congress party workers.
