AJSU leader Kamal Kishore Bhagat has lost his Jharkhand Assembly membership after being awarded seven years imprisonment by a local court in a case of attack on a doctor in 1993.
Speaker Dinesh Oraon has issued the notification of disqualification against him from June 23, a senior official with the Assembly secretariat has said.
After his disqualification, the Assembly strength has been reduced to 81, including a nominated MLA.
AJSU, which won five seats in the Assembly elections, has now four MLAs.
