Prasar Bharti has informed that there are 13 stations of All India Radio (AIR) in the State of Jharkhand.The total sanctioned manpower strength in Jharkhand for these 13 stations is 363.Among them,235 are in service and 128 posts are vacant.
The vacancies included 20 in Engineering Cadre,70 in Programming Cadre,37 in Administrative Cadre and one in News Cadre.
These facts were brought into light by Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitley informed Rajya Sabha on March 17,in reply to a question from Rajya Sabha member,Parimal Nathwani.
Jaitley stated that the government has addressed the issue of overall vacancies of Doordarshan as well as All India Radio, approved 3067 essential category posts and given one-time special dispensation to Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruitment of Group “B” and “C” posts.
The Staff Selection Commission has recommended 2367 candidates for appointment to Prasar Bharti, which is finalizing the appointments as per need, the Minister said.
