18-member junior women’s hockey team for Asia Cup announced

Names of 18-member junior women’s team was announced today for the seventh Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament to be played in Changzhou, China from September 5 to 13.

India is reportedly placed in Pool A along side China, Malaysia, Singapore, DPR Korea, while Pool B consists of Korea Rep, Japan, Thailand and Chinese-Taipei.

This tournament will be a qualification event for next year’s Junior Women World Cup.

The team members are: Goalkeepers: Inderpreet Kaur, Sheweta

Defenders: Deep Grace Ekka, Namita Toppo, Gurjit Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur, Manjit Kaur, Rashmita Minz

Midfielders: M Lily Chanu, Lilima Minz, Navjot Kaur (vice-captain), Renuka Yadav, Preeti Dubey

Forwards: Anupa Barla, Rani (captain), Punam Barla, Navneet Kaur, Sonika.
