Eighteen can bombs have been recovered in naxal-affected Khunti district, said the police today.
The security personnel detected wire lying on the road between Fadinga-Turang villages during routine patrolling in the naxal-affected area, said the police. Deep search metal detector was used to spot the explosives, which were coated with carbon.
The can bombs, each weighing between 15 to 20 kg, were connected in a series, said the police and added that all the bombs have been defused.
The search operation was led by the Additional Superintendent of Police P. R. Mishra and Sub-Divisional Police Officer A Singh.
