As many as 131 school vans have been seized by the East Singhbhum district police from different areas in Jamshedpur for allegedly plying in violation of established norms.
The police said the seizures were made from Bistupur, Sakchi, Jugsalia, Mango and Golmuri under the Motor Vehicle Act including overloading of students.
Majority of the seized vans are very old and without safety grill, said the police.
The police have also recovered huge fines from them and said that this drive will continue to enforce traffic rules.
