Thirteen office-bearers of the Jharkhand Congress Committee have resigned in protest against PCC president Sukhdev Bhagat. They have sent the copy of the resignation letter to the state party president.
The rebels have expressed their disappointment over the function of Bhagat and blamed him for the poor performance of the party in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Party leaders, who have resigned, have alleged that the Congress cannot progress in the state under the leadership of Bhagat.
They have complained to national party president Sonia Gandhi and senior central leaders Ahmad Patel, Oscar Fernandes and state observer Hari Prasad against the poor party management of Bhagat and demanded his removal from the post.
