Two day festival of short films-Super Shorts 2013-inaugurated yesterday by Ashish Mathur, MD, JUSCO at SNTI auditorium, Bistupur, Jamshedpur,entered its penultimate day today.
It was jointly organized by Media Mantra and The Society for Promotion of Professional Excellence (SPPE) of Tata Steel.
Short films in the categories of fiction and documentary, produced by budding talents of Jharkhand, students of Schools, and Colleges, and producers from other states, were to be exhibited in this festival. Out of a total of 60 entries received, 24 short films have been selected to be shown in these two days (Sep 7-8, 2013). There are a total of 4 documentaries and 18 fiction films spanning various subjects. The time duration of each film varies anywhere between 4 to 29 minutes.
Cash awards of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 for the best film in Jharkhand category and Student category (schools and colleges) were to l be given to the winners. Special Jury Award will be given to entries from other states also. All these awards are sponsored by Tata Steel. There are awards for Best Director, Editor, Script Writer, Cinematography and Acting as well.
The films are slated to be will be showcased this eveining from 4.30 pm onwards.It will be followed by prize distribution ceremony starting 8 pm. Mathur will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
The panel of judges consists of Jaynandan, Ashish Kumar, Vikash Mittal, and Sanjay Singh.
Yesterday Jenny Shah, Head, Center for Excellence, Tata Steel welcomed the guests while Hari Mittal of Media Mantra presented the details of the festival.
