An employee of a company was in jail on charges of illegally occupying an official quarter.
Pir Mohammad, an Ex- Tata Steel employee of Merchant Mill department was arrested by the police in Jamshedpur on charges of illegally occupying a house of the Tata Steel.
Now,he has to undergo imprisonment for one year as per the decision of Special Judge (Economic Offences), Jamshedpur.
Pir Mohammad preferred an appeal before the District & Sessions Judge.But it was dismissed on Sep 27, 2012. Thereafter he moved the Jharkhand High Court.
While the High Court was yet to dispose off the case,Pir continued to illegally withhold the Quarter No – LH/36, Sanga Road, Sakchi.And as such the trial Court issued Warrant of Arrest against him on Jan 5, 2013.Pir was sent to jail and his family has surrendered the quarter to the company.
“This example is a testimony to the fact that people who are wrongfully withholding Company’s accommodation will be meted out with justice in accordance with the law of the land. A message is definitely out in the public domain that stipulated rules and regulations are meant for people’s betterment and that one should be responsible enough to abide by it”,said a press release issued by Tata Steel.
