Jharkhand Agency for Promotion of Information Technology(JAP IT),Jharkhand police and Jharkhand’s Social Welfare Department have been nominated for the Skoch Award 2013.
JAP-IT’s Principal Secretary NN Sinha,her counter part of the Social Welfare Department Mridula Sinha and Additional Director General of police SN Pradhan, under whose supervision ship the three bodies of Jharkhand have qualified among India’s Best – 2013.
Among them while JAP IT under Sinha had been nominated for three works-e- Nibandhan,e-District and Computerization of Cooperative Banks of Jharkhand,Mridula Sinha and Pradhan’s department were nominated for one work each -Kalyan(Scholarship)and Neelkantha,respectively.
Incidentally,these five were among 40 odd departments and organisations across the country who were nominated for the Skoch Award 2013 for using Information Technology and adopting practices for smart,sustainable,manageable,accountable,responsive and transparent governance.
Incidentally,while five Skoch awards are going to come to Jharkhand,one Skoch award is coming to Bihar.Its Urban Development and Housing Department is nominated for its work –Centralised Grievance Redressal System.
This award was considered prestigious as it was rated on objective and highly scientific criteria by a reputed and trusted international body-Skoch Foundation.In India,it was described as ‘national award’.
The recepients including Sinhas and Pradhan will be conferred each with a medal and a citation at Hotel, Le-Meridien, Janpath, New Delhi during the investiture ceremony on September 2. The awards are expected to be given away by UIDAI Chairman Nandan Nilekani and EX- Governor of the Reserve Bank of India Dr. C. Rangarajan.
