Every district will have an old age home,says CM Hemant Soren

Every district of Jharkhand may have an old age home after Chief Minister Hemant Soren made an announcement in this regard today.

“My government will set up old age home in every district”,said Soren while delivering his speech at the Morahabadi Maidan in Ranchi where he unfurled the national flag this morning.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to improving law and order situation in the state he said,his government is planning to distribute ‘Gairmajurwa’ land(community land belonging to the government) among the landless people.

Soren said that his government was ready to hold talks with the Maoists provided they gave up violence.

“Violence has never brought any solution. We appeal to naxalites to join the mainstream and the government is ready to talk to them,” Soren said—-an offer the state government has been making for the last thirteen years from the stage on this day every year.

Underlining that extremism, insecurity, instability and backwardness are the principal challenges confronting Jharkhand, the chief minister said the UPA government in the state has taken up several welfare schemes, addressing the farmers, the children, the deprived section, the minorities, the women and other sections of the society.

He announced increase in the annual income of the old people to enable more people get benefit under the old age scheme.

He touched upon other welfare schemes like digitization, education, grants to minority schools, recruitment of teachers in minority schools, scholarships, inclusion of local languages as the medium at primary schools, irrigation facilities, roads and several other government-initiatives programmes.
